From the very first frame itself kavalan looks like a low budget megaserial, and the the usual vijay intro song doesnt creat any magic, very ordianary, actually its not at all required for these kind of genre
The visuals offers nothing, its like watching a 1990's movies, cinematographer like n.k.ekambaram can do better.
Love movies always require goods songs, but vidya sagar failed to do it,Kavalan would have been better if music is done by Harris Jayraj,Yuvan or G.vprakash
I always wonder why these malayalam directors never take care about tamil natitvity, even in kadhalukku mariyadhai,i dont know, where the story happened, the reason is directors like fazil & siddique are prefer to shoot in kerela, even though its a tamil movie set in karaikkudi, movie audience are very clear & clever, its very hard to cheat them.
Vijay performed well in comic scenes and in emotional scenes it could have been better, asin performs ordinary but she looks good except for the closeup shots,Rajkiran is routine
Vadivelu comedy is ok
Story of the movie is nothing new and screenplay is dragging, the movie is good in last 15 minutes.
Because of the failures of previous masala movies vijay tried a rom-com genre, but his fans are expecting a stylish masala-action movie like AYAN [its sets a new benchmark for tamil masala movies].
A sincere request to vijay: Times are changing,so you have to change
